LOW VOLTAGE FROST PROTECTION

Loheat's standard low voltage pipe-trace heating kits provide the most efficient method of protection against frost in any run of water piping up to one inch bore. The heating elements are designed for simple fitting to existing runs making it easy to protect all pipe work around the farm and in the parlour with minimum effort.

A very low voltage is supplied by a Loheat fully enclosed transformer which can be operated continuously to provide heating a few degrees above freezing. The low voltage system is very safe and reliable and offers a long working life. Standard kits provide up to 52.5m of frost protection on one inch bore pipes but longer runs for larger pipes can be supplied to order.

1. If the trace heating passes through partitions of wood or other combustible material, it must be completely surrounded by a rigid non-combustible layer to prevent fire hazard
2. Adjacent passes of heating element must always be suitably spaced one from the other to prevent local overheating with possible damage to the insulation and eventual short circuits.
3. The element should be cut to suit the length of pipe and the voltage adjusted in the transformer case, as per the tapping sheet on underside of the transformer lid.
4. The pipes must always be lagged after application with non-combustible material.
